On Sunday 9 February, more than 600 guests gathered to raise money for the fight against HIV/AIDS during the 19th edition of the Antwerp diner. The recently renovated Handelsbeurs provided the perfect setting for the fundraising event, where more than 112,000 euro was raised. The money will be divided among three good causes fighting against HIV/AIDS: the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp (ITM), Sensoa and Tomorrow4Isibani.
ITM will spend the funds on the “My Life” project of the multidisciplinary team of the HIV Reference Centre in Antwerp. The team will regularly assess the quality of life and mental well-being of HIV/AIDS patients. This will enable the team to refer patients more efficiently, and thus better respond to the needs of each individual patient. "My Life" fits within the holistic approach to healthcare.
