This measure is intended to relieve the pressure on our hospitals. In this way, they maintain at all times the capacity to provide the best possible care to patients infected with the coronavirus COVID-19, even if there is a sharp increase in the number of infections.

All general, university and rehabilitation hospitals in our country will postpone non-urgent consultations, examinations and interventions. As soon as possible, they will make up for those non-urgent appointments. The situation will be continuously monitored. ITM contributes by following-up COVID-19 patients at Antwerp University Hospital.

What does this mean for your appointment?

ITM will also cancel all non-urgent appointments until further notice. If your appointment is cancelled, you will be contacted personally by our Medical Secretariat. If you have not been contacted, you can still come to ITM, except if you have COVID-19 symptoms.

If you have an urgent medical problem, you can contact (03 247 66 66) during working hours (from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).

Hospital emergency planning

The measures are part of the active phase of hospital emergency planning in which our country has entered. This was decided by the management cell of the National Crisis Centre.
