Wanda, the travel medicine app of the Institute of Tropical Medicine (ITM) in Antwerp, now includes updated information on travel restrictions imposed by the Belgian government concerning COVID-19. This information is based on the guidelines of the Federal Public Service Foreign Affairs. Wanda is available on iOS and Android.

As an internationally recognised expert institution and the national reference in the field of travel health, ITM developed an app that focuses on travel health. The app can be used for information on travel medicine and vaccinations, and now also for information on possible COVID-19 travel restrictions. Wanda is free, user-friendly, and contains all the information that can also be found on ITM’s travel health website. The information is also available offline. In addition, ITM can use the app to send travellers a targeted message when an outbreak occurs in a country.

Wanda does not replace face-to-face consultations with medical staff. It is purely informative and contains general information which applies to everyone. Wanda cannot take into account the specific health risks associated with individuals because the app has no information about the user’s medical history and the circumstances in which he or she travels.
