The Institute of Tropical Medicine regularly carries out clinical trials on infectious diseases, in cooperation with academic partners and partners from the life science sector, to evaluate the safety and efficacy of novel vaccines and medicines.

Location
Our Clinical Trial Centre is situated in the buildings of the Institute of Tropical Medicine. We are located in the heart of Antwerp, making us easy to reach by public transportation.

The building
The CTC is a fully-fledged, state-of-the-art trial centre, including:
A reception desk to register trial participants and schedule appointments
Eight research rooms
A waiting area for trial participants
A sample processing room (biosafety level 2) with restricted access, temperature control and alarm
A medication room (biosafety level 2) with restricted access, temperature control and alarm
Separate storage rooms for medical materials and medical waste
Office spaces and archive
A conference room
