TropNet Annual Meeting (3-4 June)
The TropNet Annual Meeting brings together clinicians and researchers from across the TropNet network to exchange new knowledge, strengthen collaboration between member centres, and develop joint research and surveillance activities. A key objective is to connect clinical practice with research: participants present recent study results and new multicentre research proposals, discuss challenging clinical cases, and identify areas where collaborative TropNet projects can address important unanswered questions in tropical and travel medicine.
The programme covers a broad and highly practical range of topics in imported infections, travel medicine and migrant health, including malaria, schistosomiasis, strongyloidiasis, giardiasis, dengue and other emerging arboviral infections. Interactive clinical case sessions are complemented by discussions on current clinical and policy challenges, such as access to medicines for neglected tropical diseases, vaccine recommendations and changing risks for travellers. The meeting also looks ahead to new approaches in European surveillance, multicentre collaboration and the use of artificial intelligence in tropical and travel medicine.
