Thijs Reyneirs has obtained his Master degree in Sociology in 2009 (Major: Sociology of Health) at Ghent University and one year after he finished the Teacher Program there. After that Thijs quickly found his way back to science and started conducting research concerning the appropriateness and avoidability of end-of-life hospital admissions in the End-of-Life Care Research Group, Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and Ghent University. Four years later (2015) he obtained his PhD in Social Health Sciences (VUB) and PhD in Health Sciences (Ghent University).

In 2015 (March) Thijs started working at the Institute of Tropical Medicine, in the HIV and Sexual Health Research Group where he is social science coordinater in the be-prep-ared study (www.be-prep-ared.be). His area of expertise concerns both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
