HIV / STI tests

Have you been at risk of HIV or other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and are you worried? Make an appointment with one of our specialists.

HIV and STI testing at ITM

At ITM, there are two ways to get tested for HIV and STIs:

  1. Standard appointment with a medical doctor

  2. Low-threshold appointment at Helpcenter

Standard appointment

The standard way to get tested is by making an appointment with one of our specialists (a medical doctor).

Low-threshold appointment

Under certain conditions, we offer free, accessible sexual health counselling and care for vulnerable populations and individuals at higher risk of HIV or STIs. This includes:

  • Africans and other immigrants from countries with high HIV prevalence

  • Men who have sex with men (MSM)

  • People who use injectable drugs

  • Newcomers without access to regular health care

  • Clients of sex workers

  • Individuals at high risk (occasional or multiple partners, partners belonging to one of these risk groups)

  • Individuals who need to remain anonymous but were at risk of infection.

Not sure if you're eligible for a low-threshold consultation? Call us at +32(0)3 247 66 66 and ask to speak to someone from Helpcenter. We don't provide medical advice by phone.

Which tests do we offer?

  • HIV antibodies

  • Hepatitis A, B and C

  • Syphilis

  • Chlamydia

  • Gonorrhoea

All samples are analysed in our own Clinical Reference Laboratory.
