Every year, tens of thousands of travel and soi[i] consultations take place at our clinic, and our internationally recognised reference laboratories analyse hundreds of thousands of samples.

The ITG’s medical services are a centre of excellence for the diagnosis and treatment of tropical diseases, as well as for travel advice and vaccinations for travellers. We are also responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of patients with HIV and STIs. Our medical secretariat is looking for a motivated colleague to support these tasks.

Your responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for welcoming, registering and processing payments for our out-patient clinic patients, at both the travel and the HIV/STI desks.

  • As the first point of contact, you will book appointments and ensure patients are registered electronically.

  • You will provide travel advice over the telephone.

  • You will carry out general secretarial duties: managing doctors’ diaries, handling correspondence, dealing with incoming and outgoing calls, filing, providing administrative support for HIV rehabilitation files, etc.

  • You will be part of the medical secretarial team and report to the team leader Policlinic Administration

  • Together with your colleagues, you will ensure a smooth and customer-friendly service.

Your profile

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Healthcare Management Assistant or Office Management, though this is not a requirement.

  • You are fluent in Dutch, French and English. Knowledge of other languages is an advantage.

  • You are able to cope well under pressure, are enthusiastic and work proactively.

  • Medical knowledge, an interest in travel and geographical knowledge are assets.

  • You have a good knowledge of Word and Excel. You work efficiently with various software packages.

  • You have a strong affinity for administrative tasks and work with precision.

  • You communicate in a customer-focused manner and have an open attitude.

  • You work discreetly and diplomatically.

  • You are flexible, work independently and also function well as part of a team.

  • A salary package based on your relevant professional experience. ITM applies Hay salary scales. This position is classified in Hay scale 11, with a minimum gross salary of 3.186,83 euro.
