Medical services for children with HIV

The AIDS Reference Centre also has a centre for assisting seropositive children; the Centrum voor Begeleiding van Seropositieve Kinderen, better known as the CBSK. It offers services for children with HIV and children whose mothers have HIV. It is the only centre in Flanders that manages the health of children with HIV. It relies on a multidisciplinary team that includes:

  • Pediatricians specialised in HIV
  • Nurses
  • Social workers and psychologists
  • Nutritionists
