Pre-travel services and advice

With our medical services, you can be sure of a healthy experience abroad.

Planning a trip?

Before your departure, you can rely on the expert advice of the doctors of the Travel Advice Unit of our policlinic. During your travel consultation, one of our doctors will discuss ways to protect yourself against the major risks and prevalent diseases in your destination country. We also offer tailored consultations for:

  • Children

  • People with underlying health conditions: Our experts specialise in travel advice for individuals with conditions such as HIV, autoimmune disorders, and more.

  • Groups of more than six people: We provide additional support for larger groups. Information sessions can be arranged upon request, followed by a coordinated vaccination schedule for the entire group.

Travel consultation

Procedure

The doctor provides personalised advice based on your travel destination, health status, and the nature and duration of your trip. You will receive all agreed travel vaccinations immediately, along with a vaccination certificate and the necessary prescriptions (e.g. for malaria tablets). All travel vaccinations, including the yellow fever vaccine, are available at our clinic. Depending on the required vaccinations, multiple follow-up appointments may be necessary.

Cost

All doctors are conventioned. You will incur charges for the consultation and the vaccines that were administered.

When to schedule?

It is best to schedule your pre-travel consultation at least six weeks before departure.

How do I prepare?

  • Bring your old vaccination booklets, travel itinerary, and medication list.

  • Read the information about your destination on Wanda in advance.

  • Are you bringing a child? We strive to make the vaccination process as comfortable and smooth as possible. Discover how you can prepare your child for vaccination.

Yellow fever vaccination centres

For a yellow fever vaccine, you can go to ITM or another centre offering yellow fever vaccinations. It is not possible to buy a vaccine at a pharmacy and have it administered by your general practitioner.

Make an appointment

Consultations are by appointment only. Schedule your appointment at least six weeks before departure to avoid waiting times. Bring your vaccination records and list of medications.

We do not give personalised advice by phone or mail.
