For Science Day Antwerp, a diverse array of partners is joining forces to create an unforgettable experience for people of all ages! Researchers from Antwerp will fill the ZOO halls with more than eighty engaging scientific activities. We're turning the venue into a lively hub of exploration, where you can discover intriguing insights and the latest scientific innovations.

The tiger mosquito is rapidly spreading across Europe and poses a significant health risk, highlighting the need for environmentally friendly control methods. Research indicates that native predatory water beetles may provide an effective biological solution by controlling the larvae of this invasive mosquito. Observe microscopic slides of different types of human parasites, including various species of Plasmodium (malaria), Trypanosoma (sleeping sickness), Leishmania (leishmaniasis), and Loa loa (filariasis)
