The HIV Reference Centre Antwerp divides its activities across a number of sites:
The Institute for Tropical Medicine in Antwerp (HIV and STD clinic)
The doctors in the HIV-STD clinic at the ITM are happy to make time for you. Always schedule an appointment. Either come to the reception desk or call us any workday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. (2 p.m. on Tuesdays).
If your appointment no longer suits you, cancel it as soon as possible (the day before at the very latest). Please don’t do this too often, otherwise we are forced to charge you for the missed consultations.
The Antwerp University Hospital (Unit of Tropical Diseases and Unit of Paediatric HIV Care)
For urgent help after 5 p.m. and on weekends, the HIV Reference Centre Antwerp works with the Antwerp University Hospital (UZA).
Go to the Emergency Services Department at the UZA. Call in advance: 03 821 30 00 (Emergency) or 03 821 51 53 (after-hours nursing services).
Make sure you immediately specify that your case is being managed by the ITM. For emergency cases involving children, please contact the after-hours services for children at the UZA (24/7). Call 03 821 30 00 and ask for the Emergency Services Department.
