Ectoparasites
Ectoparasites are parasites that live on humans (not in humans). Examples are fleas, lice, ticks, bedbugs and mites. Scabies is caused by mites that burrow into the upper layer of the skin, where they live and lay their eggs. Scabies causes itching and pimple-like skin rashes.
