Scabies
Scabies is caused by the scabies mite that digs holes in the skin and lays its eggs there. This causes very itchy lesions. You can become infected through close skin-to-skin contact or by using clothes, towels, bed linen, ... from an infected person, for example in a (usually less hygienic) hotel.
The treatment usually consists of an ointment with permethrin, followed by an itching ointment, washing all clothing and linen or the intake of ivermectin.
