Equity and Health
A fundamental goal of global public health
Health and health care inequities place people who may already be socially disadvantaged or disenfranchised at further disadvantage with respect to their health, well-being, and livelihoods.
The Unit of Equity and Health within the Department of Public Health aims to contribute to better understanding of the root causes of health inequities and development of strategies to improve access, acceptability, quality, and accountability of health systems and services to communities, particularly for individuals in marginalised and precarious positions in both the global South and North.

Amplifying voices of health inequities 💬

Workshop series on migration and health
We are organising a series of bi-monthly skill-building workshops on the health of migrant and mobile populations in the Global South and North, led by the units of Equity and Health and Sexual and Reproductive Health. Our purpose is to unite researchers to explore the complexities of health issues among migrant and mobile populations globally. These workshops intend to foster dialogue, skill-sharing, and collaboration opportunities among experts in the field.
