First patients recruited in the SIMBLE study in Benin

After a few training days, the first patients were enrolled in the SIMBLE project in Benin.

After a few training days on laboratory procedures, blood culture sampling, databases, ethics, and many more topics, the first patients were enrolled in the SIMBLE project. For this, the study team of Belgian, French, and Beninese researchers spent a very intensive two weeks together. The study sites of CNHU-HKM in Cotonou and Boko hospital started at the same moment in the beginning of June.

Before enrolment, production of the Bactinsight blood culture bottles was done in our brand-new production facility. Check out the production process steps in the video below.
