Chiara Trevisan is a researcher in the Eco-Epidemiology Unit at the Department of Public Health.
She obtained a PhD in Epidemiology and Public Health from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark in 2017.
During her PhD she conducted research within the field of burden and impact assessment of parasitic zoonoses. She has been working on models to estimate the societal cost of zoonotic diseases, following a One Health approach.
She also performed research on pig behaviour and welfare and studied host parasite interactions.
Chiara has a multidisciplinary profile with experience in epidemiology, disease burden modelling, risk assessment, diagnostics, and health education.
Her primary interests and research focus lies in research questions related to the prevention and control/elimination of Neglected Tropical Diseases using a One Health approach. She develops and tests novel control tools and supports with diagnostic tool development and evaluation.
In all activities she applies a One Health approach and works within an international network across sectors including all relevant disciplines.
She has a large network of international collaborators, joined 11 international research project and co-authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications.
