Dr Sarah Castle supports the design, implementation and research for Enabel's sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) programmes in Burkina Faso, Burundi, Senegal and Guinea. Her work focuses on strengthening the evidence base for programme implementation through implementation research, action research and the translation of findings into policy and practice. Drawing on more than two decades of experience across francophone Africa, she has particular expertise in social and behaviour change, gender-transformative approaches and community engagement to improve adolescent sexual and reproductive health, increase voluntary contraceptive uptake, and strengthen the empowerment and agency of women and girls. She works closely with governments, implementing partners and researchers to ensure that programmes are evidence-informed, locally relevant and contribute to stronger, more equitable health systems.
